"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages."
Announcing the 2018-19 AWSP production
An epic tragedy of great proportion that speaks so poignantly to an topic that is very much an issue for todays youth, the battle between integrity and popularity. Coriolanus; a true hero, misunderstood or accurate portrayal? As we embark upon the journey, we will see the ‘ mob' become it’s own living, breathing character with power to wield it’s own sword, to praise, forgive and even condemn. This year the students of AWSP homeschool Shakespearean theatre troupe will dive into the themes of love and duty, honor and truth, pride and vengeance as we walk with Sir William Shakespeare through the beauty and the tragedy of the human condition played out on a grand and worldly stage. There will be battles both on and off the stage, as our young actors work to become masters in the art of fight choreography. We will thoroughly engage the audience to partake in the action and invest in the emotion! Lots of fun to be had for all: girls, boys, young and old- there will be something to engage every student whether acting on the stage or behind the scenes of production, costumes, props and sets.
A valiant warrior, a hero’s cry, friends and enemies, a families embrace, a mother’s plea, an act of mercy and last dying words. Together these themes weave a web of life lived, seen and experienced. *********** Come join us as the people rally together and cry out CORIOLANUS!
AWSP is celebrating 11 years of educational workshops and productions of full-length Shakespeare plays for homeschooled students, aged 8-18. We rehearse and perform at Chelmsford Center for the Arts, 1A North Road, Chelmsford, MA, 01824.
Our 2018-19 season is here! We invite you to join us as we immerse ourselves into the life, the times, and the language of Shakespeare- all while having a ton of fun and making new friends! Students will learn together, grow together and be mentored in all areas of acting and producing a full length Shakespeare play. While others may teach Shakespeare only in the classroom, we learn through EXPERIENCE!
Please visit the "Our Program" page for more information on getting involved for the 2018-2019 school year!
